Democracy Day: Despair Not, Oh People Of Bayelsa State, For Joy Is Coming – Turnah

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, heartily felicitates with the people of Bayelsa State and Nigerians at large on the occasion of the 2026 Democracy Day celebration.

Hon. Turnah states that while the journey of democracy may sometimes be accompanied by trials and difficult moments, the resilience, courage, and determination of the people remain the greatest guarantee of a better future, urging Bayelsans not to lose hope in the face of present challenges, assuring them that brighter days lie ahead.

According to him, Democracy Day is not only a celebration of democratic governance but also a reminder that power ultimately belongs to the people, whose collective will and aspirations must remain the foundation of leadership and governance.

The Bayelsa PDP Chairman acknowledged the economic and social realities confronting many families but expressed confidence that a new season of hope, opportunity, and people-oriented leadership is on the horizon.

“To the good people of Bayelsa State, I say despair not. Remain steadfast, united, and hopeful. The challenges of today will not define our tomorrow. Joy is coming. A better and more prosperous future is possible when leadership is driven by compassion, justice, equity, and genuine concern for the wellbeing of the people.”

Hon. Turnah further called on Bayelsans to continue to uphold the values of peace, unity, and democratic participation, while reaffirming the commitment of the PDP to advancing policies and leadership that place the interests of the people first.

He wishes the people of Bayelsa State and Nigerians at large a peaceful and memorable Democracy Day celebration.
