The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bayelsa State, Hon. Chief Alabhh George Turnah, MON, Esq., has pledged continued support and partnership with Closer TV, describing the media organisation as a remarkable investment in Bayelsa’s media landscape with the capacity to compete favourably with leading media outfits across the country.
Turnah, who made the remarks during a visit to the headquarters of the organisation in Yenagoa, expressed joy at the level of infrastructure and capacity on ground, noting that the jobs already created by Closer TV shows the vision, enterprise and commitment behind the establishment. He urged Bayelsans and the wider Niger Delta to patronise and support indigenous media organisations, stressing that “there is nothing any other media outlet can do that Closer TV cannot do.”
Turnah called on the Bayelsa State Government, individuals, corporate organisations and other stakeholders to patronise Closer TV for media production, coverage, publications and professional training, noting that the growth of indigenous businesses requires collective support. He also encouraged young people to draw inspiration from the vision and enterprise of the Chairman and CEO of Closer TV, Johnson Ogbomade, and pursue their dreams with courage, resilience and determination.
Turnah, who made a financial donation to support the organisation, assured the management of his continued patronage and partnership, expressing his determination to support the dream of building Closer TV into a globally recognised media brand.In his response, the Chairman and CEO of Closer TV, Johnson Ogbomade, expressed appreciation to Turnah for the visit, encouragement and generous support, describing his gesture as a demonstration of the kind of leadership and solidarity needed to grow indigenous enterprises in Bayelsa State.
He called on other well-meaning Bayelsans to emulate the PDP Chairman by supporting local businesses, entrepreneurs and institutions that are contributing to employment creation and the development of the state.
