Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State have celebrated the state chairman, High Chief (Hon.) George Turnah, MON, on his 43rd birthday with an emotional presentation, assuring him of continued fatherly support from the FCT Minister and PDP national leader, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON.

The presentation, which was made on Saturday at the party’s secretariat, came despite Turnah’s decision to cancel all activities planned for his birthday on September 3 following the death of the PDP National Vice Chairman, South-South Zone, Chief Dan Osi Orbih.

Turnah had cancelled the celebrations as a mark of respect and honour for Orbih, whom he regarded as a great political father and mentor.

The party leaders said the presentation was deliberately kept secret from Turnah, adding that they wanted to remind him that despite the loss of Orbih, he still has a father in Wike.

According to the leaders, the presentation was planned and executed without the prior knowledge of the state chairman.
