Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State, Chief Alabh George Turnah, MON, has described the Rainbow Coalition as a growing political force capable of influencing electoral outcomes across Nigeria.

Turnah, who is also the Bayelsa leader of the coalition, stated this on TVC’s Breakfast Saturday programme at the weekend.

He said the Rainbow was not a political party but a multiparty political structure founded by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike, CON.

According to him, the coalition can support credible candidates across party lines, stressing: “Once the Rainbow backs you, it’s as good as done.”

On the 2027 presidential election, Turnah said the coalition had yet to decide on a preferred candidate, adding that its members would support the collective decision when made.

He disclosed that about 15 political parties had already joined the coalition in Bayelsa, saying the structure was positioned to influence the emergence of governors, legislators and potentially the next President.

“The Rainbow will make its decision at the end of the day. And once that decision is made, all of us will stand by it,” he said.
