Following the shocking death of the National Vice Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South South Zone, Chief Daniel Osi Orbih, the Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State, High Chief (Hon.) Alabh George Turnah, MON, Esq., has cancelled all activities marking his 43rd birthday anniversary coming up on Thursday 3rd September, 2026 and declared a seven-day mourning period in honour of the late party leader.

The Bayelsa PDP Chairman has also directed that all PDP flags across the State be flown at half-mast throughout the mourning period and ordered the immediate suspension of all party activities in the State as a mark of respect for the departed leader, whom he described as a father, mentor, political associate and a true party man.

Turnah, who worked closely with Chief Orbih in his capacities as Zonal Legal Adviser and Zonal Secretary of the PDP South South Zone, said the party and the entire South South have suffered a monumental loss. He urged party leaders, members and supporters to stand with the Orbih family in this difficult moment.
