George Turnah, a legal practitioner and the acting chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Bayelsa State Chapter, has paid heartfelt tribute to his late mother, Deaconess Elizabeth Titi Charles, on the fifth anniversary of her death.

He referred to his mother, who died in 2020 at the age of 67, as a “Great Deaconess of all times and seasons,” whose moral fortitude, holy life, and unshakable commitment to faith and family had inspired everyone who knew her.

Turnah conveyed profound grief and unwavering love in an emotionally charged post published on Wednesday, July 17, 2025, saying: “Oh, dear mother, it’s been 5 years since you left me alone in this wicked and sinful world, yet it feels like just yesterday.” I miss you every single moment of every day, and I love you with all my heart.

He added that, in keeping with their common Christian beliefs, he finds comfort in the hope of seeing her again on the morning of the resurrection, even though the anguish of her absence is still very much present.

Turnah went on to say: “My late mother, Deaconess Elizabeth Titi Charles, was a pillar in her church and community in addition to being a loving mother.

“Her legacy of kindness, spiritual dedication, and exemplary character remains alive in the hearts of many, especially George Turnah, her beloved son.

“I’ve an unbroken love and eternal bond with my late mother. Mum continue to rest in perfect peace until we meet again to part no more on the resurrection morning”.

Turnah, who also serves as the PDP’s South South Zone Zonal Secretary, reaffirmed his dedication to walking in obedience to God, saying that his mother’s spiritual legacy continues to be a source of inspiration for him and his family.

Pastor Roland, the presiding pastor, urged Evangelist Turnah and his family to continue to pursue God’s mission with steadfastness in his sermon, “Divine Constancy.” He underlined that God wants everyone to have eternal life, pointing out that everyone has a divine purpose that may not always be shown by high rank or earthly prestige but rather by faithfulness and obedience in whatever role they have.

The church women’s gesture, in which they provided food items and heartfelt tributes to Hon. Turnah, was a moving highlight of the occasion. They conveyed their sincere gratitude for his years of unwavering love, concern, and generosity toward them, the neighborhood, and the church.

George Turnah, MON, led the congregation in a potent session of praise and worship during the service. He expertly ministered through the rhythmic sound of the traditional bell, inspiring a profound sense of reverence and spiritual connection among worshippers. This was another enthralling moment.

Additionally, special prayers were said for Turnah and his family, requesting continuing blessings, divine protection, and the strength to maintain their faith.

After the church service, Turnah went to his late mother’s mausoleum with his family and church officials for a wreath-laying ceremony and a quick moment of reflection.

Deaconess Elizabeth Titi Charles is regarded as a good woman whose moral example profoundly influenced everyone who knew her. Through her children and the lives she touched while she was here on Earth, her legacy endures.
