Kolo Town Agog as PDP State Party Chairman George Turnah MON, Visits Father

Kolo Town in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State was agog with excitement and jubilation on Friday, May 9, 2025, as the Chairman, Caretaker Committee of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State and Zonal Secretary of the PDP South South Zone, Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, arrived his hometown to a thunderous and emotional welcome.

A mammoth crowd comprising elders, youths, women, and children trooped out in their numbers to receive their illustrious son, singing, dancing, and waving in admiration as he made his way into the community.

The electrifying atmosphere clearly demonstrated the deep love, respect, and pride the people have for Barr. Turnah, whose leadership, humility, and connection with the grassroots continue to inspire many.

Barr. Turnah was in Kolo to attend the funeral of Late Madam Ate Ikechukwu Iseke Egi Thompson, who died at the age of 75.

He was accompanied by members of the PDP State Working Committee who joined him in extending heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and the larger Kolo community.

In his message of comfort, the party chieftain encouraged the people to remain firm in their faith, noting that while life is fleeting, those who trust in God have the blessed hope of eternal reunion.

Barr. Turnah also spent quality time with his father, Elder Olobha Turnah, and other family and community members at his paternal home. 

The heartwarming family moments further shows his strong attachment to his roots and the values of unity, respect, and kinship.

Indeed, the overwhelming show of love and support by the people of Kolo stands as a significant demonstration to the enduring bond between Barr. Turnah and his community (Kolo) one built on trust, shared history, and mutual admiration.
