His Imperial Majesty, King Dumaro Charles Owaba, the Obanobhan of Ogbia Kingdom, has commended Barrister Alabh George Turnah (MON), for his effort in setting up a football club in the state.

The Obanobhan disclosed this during a courtesy visit of officials and players of George Turnah Football Club in his Palace in Yenagoa.

Describing the move as a bold step in the right direction, which would engage lots of youths in Ogbia and beyond, the King praised him for joining the few Nigerians who had established football clubs in the country.

King Charles Owaba, who prayed and blessed the team, called on the boys to be good ambassadors of Ogbia and Bayelsa at large while urging them to ensure they gain promotion to the elite league.

The Obanobhan of Ogbia Kingdom assured George Turnah FC of his support and that of his people while equally praying for the club’s Chairman, Barrister Alabh George Tunah (MON), to excel in his future endeavours.

Earlier, the Leader of the delegation and Coach of the team, Ada Gwegwe, expressed his gratitude to the Obanobhan for his warm reception despite the short notification, stating that their mission was to seek his Royal blessing as they prepare to make their debut at the 2016/2017 Nationwide League one season.

Coach Gwegwe, on behalf of the club’s Chairman, Barrister George Turnah (MON), once again congratulated the Obanobhan of Ogbia Kingdom on his recent coronation, praying that God should guide him throughout his reign.
