To Barr. George Turnah on His Birthday.

By MUNENE WILSON

1
From Ogbia’s soil a seed took root,
Strong in resolve, in vision astute.
Law was his compass, service his guide,
Through storm and sunshine he would stride.

2
In youth he rose, with fervent flame,
The Vanguard knew and blessed his name.
At NDDC he carved his part,
A servant’s hand, a loyal heart.

3
The PDP banners he has borne,
Through nights of trial, through breaking morn.
Now Chair in Bayelsa, steadfast, sure,
With South-South charge to guard secure.

4
Not just in power, but books as well,
His PhD in Law will tell,
That wisdom crowns the tireless quest,
And learning makes the leader blessed.

5
He lifts the youth, he builds the schools,
He honours merit, he breaks old rules.
From Kolo’s halls to Upata’s ring,
He gives the next generation wings.

6
The MON upon his chest may shine,
But brighter still, the cause divine:
To shape a nation, bridge the divide,
And walk with courage, undenied.

7
So raise the song, let voices say:
A star was born this very day.
George Turnah, scholar, leader, friend
May grace and strength your steps attend.
