High Chief (Hon.) Alabh George Turnah, MON, Esq.

Born on September 3, 1983, in Kolo 3 Town, Ogbia LGA of Bayelsa State, to Mr. and Mrs. Elvis Olobha Turnah, George Turnah’s story is one of purpose, resilience, and public service. From humble beginnings, he rose to become a leading legal practitioner and influential political figure in Nigeria.

He obtained his LL.B from Niger Delta University, Amassoma in 2008, followed by a BL from the Nigerian Law School in 2010. Driven by academic excellence, he later earned an LL.M from the University of Derby, UK (2018), and is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of East London.

His passion for leadership was evident during his undergraduate years. He served as:

George Turnah began his political journey with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 1998. Over the years, he has served as:

  • Presidential Campaign Council Member (2011, 2015, 2019, 2023)

  • Bayelsa State Governorship Campaign Council Member (2003–2023)

  • Youngest member of the PDP Bayelsa Elders Council (2012)

His leadership within PDP continues today as Zonal Secretary (South-South) and Acting Chairman of the Bayelsa State Chapter.

Philanthropy & Foundations

Through the George Turnah Foundation, he supports education, youth development, sports, health, and aid to vulnerable populations. His philanthropic legacy spans scholarships, football tournaments, disaster response, and grassroots capacity-building.

High Chief George Turnah is happily married to Mrs. Jennifer Timipere Turnah, a gracious and supportive partner in life and service. Together, they are blessed with four beautiful daughters:
